Well, if you don't want to follow the new rules, Infractions will follow, along with bans

It's not that difficult to refrain from some things and still get your point across

My only comment as it pertains to the new IVU Thread, which let's face it is nothing more than a continuation and change

in venue from the Rubber Room, no matter what the title of the thread is, is that without eliminating the thread entirely, it is going

to be damn hard to regulate the thread itself!!

The title of the new thread as well as the old is a total misnomer for the simple reason that the overwhelming number of posts

has to do with a FEW folks praising/defending Trump or bashing him and bashing Biden(no one praises him), which by itself means

that the back and forth is going to get heated with name-calling and insults, etc. including me!!

As I have said before, I would much rather have this thread be a productive one with back-and-forth polite discussion

and debates.

I have tried to do by asking tough but relevant questions and making points(just check the last few days) but have been ignored

because those on the other hand have no answers to my question and would simply rather continue in their usual

modus operandi with name-calling and insults as their only "response!"

I wish Hache Man or anyone else the best of luck if they somehow turn this thread into a productive one rather than its

current status, which consists for the most part of a few members on each side of warring factions!!

ps As I have said before, imo you need a REAL moderator in the IVU Thread as well as in quite a few other threads whose duty

is to really moderate the thread and keep it on track rather than just babysit at best!!

Ahahahaha what a joke. The OP who happens to be a moderator and the "voice of reason" had plenty of retorts deleted, including his own in this thread, when he thought Greeny was being a meanie lol. Greeny was just mimicking Dafinch but Hache tried to throw his weight around. We all can see that this site is quickly turning into a safe space. Hache you and LadyAnne need to quit "moderating" multiple sites. Neither of you know the lay of the land.

I can only speak for myself but just viewing the overwhelming multitude of different posts and threads in the last

24 hours plastered all over the Political Thread has led me to the conclusion that eliminating the Rubber Room while in

theory eliminates some of the irrelevant and inherent garbage that was posted over there, in actuality has done

nothing than bring this crap over to the Political Section and to most people and especially to new folks has turned the

Political Selection into a cumbersome and overwhelming one which is a turnoff!!

How to fix it?/

Well this is obviously theoretical of course, but imo moderators and or the Forum Administrators need to take it upon

themselves to streamline the Political Section by combining some of these threads, posts and thoughts so that

there a way fewer separate threads and new thoughts using today as an example!!

For example, how about doing something along the lines of this:

One thread for Trump Thoughts For the Day, another for Biden Thought of the Day and/or Pro-Trump Thoughts For the Day,

another for negative Trump Thoughts for the day and the same for Biden.

It goes without saying that people would be free to agree or disagree with what has been posted in those threads.

Most importantly, it would direct people in an efficient manner to threads in which they were interested in reading and or

participating rather than scrolling through a zillion different threads to find what they are looking for!!

Again I fully realize that what I am stating is an idealistic and broad concept which is easier said and done and that for sure

modifications would be needed!!

That said, and to be blunt, as it stands today, imo the elimination of the Rubber Room at his juncture adds up to "robbing Peter

to pay Paul!!"

Here is an idea....understand people have things to say and you can and will not silence them so let them speak.Mods probably have their hands tied but that is the reality
Barring eliminating everything but sports related topics by just shrinking the forum and completely deleted everything not related to sports.... people will continue to post what they want
Those are the only two solutions

Regarding my previous post, the one term which I inadvertently left out and should not have and which summarizes everything

is that is stands now the Political Section is completely devoid of any kind of STRUCTURE, and in essence is nothing more

than a collection of unproductive and random flyway threads and thoughts laden with name-calling and insults which in some cases

amount to not much more than attempts to stoke one's own ego and get attention!!

If one really wants to streamline this thread which imo has totally become unwieldy, cumbersome and overall way too

stuffed with shit because so much more is being posted over here since the Rubber Room was extinguished, here is a perfect example

of a thread that should be deleted.

I say this because before today, no one has posted anything in this particular for FIVE YEARS!!

As I see it, there should be a time limit for threads to exist if no one posts anything in it, whether it be a year, two years, etc.

To let someone resurrect a thread after five years of lying in mothballs is inefficiency and imo this should be one of the functions of

a moderator so that the Forum and te number of threads don't look like a fat overweight slob who weighs 400 lbs.

I know some folks will not agree and that is fine-I am simply offering commentary with what I see is dramatically wrong with

the forum.
